One thing I have very little tolerance for is repetition. Most of the time this causes me to analyze the process and try to automate or organize it somehow. One way is through web development. Since I am learning Javascript, I created this simple tool which eliminated repetitive steps during the task of allocating funds from pay checks. Normally I would take each paycheck and with a calculator determine the percentages but this tool helped my task be more efficient.
The development was done using Yeoman, Bower, Grunt and Atom.io. In addition, Javascript and Chart.js. Javascript objects, loops, and arrays were used. Tax rate information was sourced from Bankrate.com.
My ultimate goal is to expand the functionality to include the ability to change your tax rate and the percentage for each category. Furthermore, transition to use Angular.js. Lastly, refine the UI for a more branded and polished look.
